Get Used to Different

“If you have run with footmen and they have tired you out, Then how can you compete with horses? If you fall down in a land of peace,
How will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?” Jeremiah 12:5 (NASB)
I. We are to be vigilant.

“Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.” Romans 13:11 (NASB)

Three tenses of salvation:
I have been saved from the penalty of sin.
I am being saved from the power of sin.
I will be saved when I am given a new body.

II. Fight courageously.

“The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
Romans 13:12 (NASB)
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:10-12 (NASB)

III. Walk in obedience.

“Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy.” Romans 13:13 (NASB)

“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” John 14:21 (NASB)

IV. Put on Jesus and continue in faith.

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.” Romans 13:14 (NASB)
