Worship is loving God, communing with Him, fellowshipping with Him, speaking to Him and most importantly, listening to Him. Worship is a daily activity for the believer, not just a corporate activity for a group of believers. However, corporate worship time is a very important aspect in the believer's life. Our corporate worship services include Sunday mornings at 10:30, Sunday evenings at 6:00pm and SOAR Service on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm. Our worship time is a blend of congregational praise to, for about our Lord and our Savior through traditional hymns and contemporary songs, sound biblical teaching and prayer. The Youth conduct their own worship and intense Bible study time on Wednesday nights beginning at the mid-point of the SOAR service at 7:00pm. Worship MinistriesForest Hills offers a growing number of opportunities to serve in the worship ministries. Currently, we offer music opportunities through the Worship Choir and Children's Choir as well as Special Music presentations during Sunday services. We continue to develop Drama Ministries and have a Praise Team as a regular component of our corporate worship time in the 10:30 am service on Sunday and SOAR service on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm. WORSHIP CHOIR The Worship Choir leads out in our corporate worship services in the 10:30 am service each Sunday. They present a variety of music styles from choral arrangements of contemporary praise songs to lively arrangements of southern gospel favorites. The worship Choir also prepares and participates in dramatic musicals at Christmas and Easter. The Worship Choir rehearsals are held in the Rehearsal Room upstairs directly above the baptistry of the Sanctuary on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 pm.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR The Children's Choir presents musicals at Christmas, Easter and other special occasions throughout the year. The Children's Choir rehearsals are held in the Youth Center on Wednesday nights at (approximately 7:00 pm) the mid-point of the SOAR service. PRAISE TEAM MINISTRIES We have a more contemporary style of worship service during the 10:30 am Sunday morning service and at our SOAR service at 6:00pm on Wednesday nights. The current Praise Team leads out in worship at these services, with opportunities for other instrumentalists. We are seeking Praise Band instrumentalists including percussion, strings, woodwinds and brass instruments. SPECIAL MUSIC MINISTRIES Each Sunday morning corporate worship service offers the opportunity for soloists, duets, trios, etc. to lead us in this element of worship. We are always seeking for additional individuals and groups to participate in this ongoing ministry.Singers are now scheduled through the first half of 2007. We are also expanding the role of instrumentalists in our 11:00 am upbeat worship service through their utilization during the "Worship through Tithes & Offerings." DRAMA MINISTRIES This ministry continues to develop and grow. We have been blessed by recent short dramatic portrayals in our 10:30 am Sunday corporate worship time. We also utilize drama as a major component of our Christmas musicals.
